First Breath January 10, 1957 – Last Breath January 16, 2024

Freddy L. Bolden, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Sparrow Hospital of Lansing, Michigan. Freddy was born to the union of Eddie and Beulah Bolden in Dyersburg, Tennessee on Thursday, January 10, 1957.

He was a member of Jones Street Church of Christ and graduated from Dyer County High School, both of Newbern, Tennessee. Shortly after graduation, Freddy moved to Lansing, Michigan and became a member of Holmes Road Church of Christ and worshipped there until his health failed.

Freddy was a retired cement journeyman where he became a member of the union for thirty plus years. He was very adventurous, loved working on cars and always was laughing whether it was him making a joke or someone else; not to mention, he always had this quote: “God bless the child who got his own and they’re going to get off me.”

He leaves to cherish his memory: a special companion, Patricia Qualls of Lansing, Michigan, and a really good friend, Benny Molden of Columbus, Georgia; three daughters, Ebony (Marty) Evans of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Philicia (Donald) Witherspoon of Hueytown, Alabama and Taylor Qualls of Lansing, Michigan; one son, Maurice Qualls of Lansing, Michigan; seven brothers, Granger Thompson, Ronnie (Willie) Thompson both of Lansing, Michigan, Leonard (Audrey) Bolden, Donnie (Gloria) Bolden, Thomas Bolden, Terrence Bolden and Ricky Thompson all of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four sisters, Rose McCoy of Chicago, Illinois, Mary (James) Woods, Linda Waiters and Sue Bolden, all of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and eight grandchildren, as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Beulah Bolden; sisters, Linda Ward and Clara Collins; and brother, Eddie Bolden Jr.
