Freeman Lucas, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. Freeman Lucas, Jr. passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the University of Michigan Health - Sparrow in Lansing, Michigan. Age 68 years. He was born Tuesday, June 5, 1956, the son of Freeman Lucas, Sr. and Mattie Lilly in Blytheville, Arkansas.

 Freeman and his family moved to Lansing, Michigan when he was a young child. He attended the Lansing School District and graduated from Lansing Everett High School. He played basketball for Everett High School as well. Freeman enjoyed cooking and was employed at Cheddars Restaurant for 20+ years. He loved to be around family and friends. Freeman was a loving, caring man, who would give what he had in his sock (LOL). He will be missed by his family and friends.

 Freeman leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Freedareon Terry; grandchildren, Freedareon Terry, Jr., Faronte Terry, Janiyah Terry, Jania Freedaieon Terry, Faith Terry and Jiraiya Terry; mother, Mattie Lilly; sisters, Luranin Lilly “Tammy” and Michelle Lilly “BeBa”; Kendrick Lilly “Kieth”, Wayne Lilly, and Frank Lilly, Jr.; 7 nieces, Shawntel Lilly “Shawncy”, Kamesha Lilly, Lateeka Mosley, TyTianna Stewart, Keondra Lilly, Kenyarah Lilly, Sharond Mack, Lakeya Leek, and Kyla Lilly; 5 nephews, Randall Stewart, DeVeon Lilly, Kendric, Lilly, Jr., Jermaris Leek and Chillion Artis; aunt, Jessie Made Adams; many cousins, other relatives and friends including long-time girlfriend, Brenda Heggin.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Lucas, Sr.; stepfather Frank Lilly, Sr.; sister, Ann Lucas; and aunt, Odell McKissic.
