Garfield Jr. 'Snook' Lawson

Mr. Garfield Lawson, Jr., "Snook," passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 67 years. He was born on January 13, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan to Dorothy and Garfield Lawson, Sr.
Mr. Lawson was a member of El Bethel Evangelistic Missionary Baptist Church of Flint, Michigan under leadership of Pastor Danyiel Griffin. He was one of the founding members of Eastside NA group. Garfield enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to the casino, playing chess, dominoes and cards. He also enjoyed mentoring recovering addicts, grilling outside and listening to music.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife of 48 years, Deborah Lawson; three daughters, Michele (Greg) McMath, Adilah Jackson, Teyanna King all of Saginaw, Michigan; three sons, Garfield Lawson, III, Andre (LaTasha) Lawson and DeAndre (Christal) Lawson, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Greg (Kaila) Lawson, DeMarques Lawson, Antorius Hibler, Saginaw, Michigan, Dondrerick Manson-Lawson, Marietta, Georgia, Deanna Wells-Lawson, Shreveport, Louisiana, Bianca Lawson, Houston, Texas, Garfield Lawson, IV, Lawrenceville, Georgia, Carlos and Ronald McMath, Saginaw, Michigan, DeAsia Jeffries, Deonte Jeffries and JaiOhn Wilson, Saginaw, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Gregory III, DaMarion, DeMarques Jr., Mikenzie, DeShawn, Taylor, Grace and Ahmiyah; five sisters, Marva Barnett, Dorothy Walker, Gloria Belton, Patricia (Dave) Pleasant and Tanya (James) Vaughn; one brother, Charles Dallas; 32 nieces and nephews; two aunts, Jannie McGhee and Mildred Burden; a host of cousins; three sisters-in-law, Evelina Washington, Mattie (Randolph) Taylor, Cheryl (Lynn) Badger; four brothers-in-law, James Mason, Willliam (Helena) Badger, Horace Badger and Elliott (Celeste) Badger; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Herbert Riley, Henry Hatfield, Herbert Beverly, Ron Owens, and a goddaughter, Tammy Vickers Camel.
Garfield was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield Sr. and Dorothy Lawson; stepfather, Robert X. Cutler; brothers, Lorenzo and Louis Dallas; son-in-law, Shawnyell Jackson; niece, Chris Badger; niece, Nichole Badger; nephew, Norzell Badger, and special friend, Laura Ezell.
