Gary Ostrander, Jr.

June 20, 1985 — August 9, 2018

Gary William Ostrander, Jr. was born June 20, 1985 in Saginaw, Michigan to Gary Ostrander, Sr. and Katherine Duranso. From the time he was born, he was fun, loving and full of life. He loved making people laugh and he was always full of energy.

He enjoyed landscaping and made cutting grass an artform. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. The smell of fresh air and connecting with nature is what he enjoyed most. The outdoors provided a mental shift that allowed him to relax and slowdown from his life. The outdoors made Gary feel inspired, rejuvenated and motivated to explore even more.

Gary was a family man and his family was his life, especially his children. He loved spending quality time with his kids and siblings. He lived a short but meaningful life and he will be forever in our hearts and memory.

Gary entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Loretta Ostrander and Gerald and Nancy Duranso.

He leaves to cherish precious memories wife, Michaella Vega; three daughters, Angel, Alivia, Aalyah Ostrander; three sons, Gary Ostrander, III, Lucas Maurer, Luciano Ostrander; parents, Gary Ostrander, Sr. and Katherine Duranso; three sisters, Kari, Sara, Kelly Ostrander; brother, Scott Duranso; nieces, Shon’Tae Duranso, Shontell Jumper, Kaliyah Ostrander, Isabella Fountain, Kara, Kaylee Ostrander, Lilly, Byrne; nephews, Demontrion “Dee” Phillips, D’Airis West, Scott Duranso, Jr., Jamari, Javari Duranso; aunts, Cora Rosebrock, Carolyn Duranso, Vicky, Lori Ostrander, Kathy, Maria, Sally, Janie; uncles, Gary, Jerry Duranso, Darryl, Fred, Billy, Charlie Ostrander; mother and father-in-law, Belia Gomez, Jamie Montero; sister-in-law, Belia (Ismael) Valdiviez; brothers-in-law. To remember the good in others is the strongest counter point to grief. Let these words help you remember the real essence of Gary. Not how did he die, but how did he live. Not what did he gain, but what did he give. These are the units to measure the worth, of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
