Gary Wilkes

Gary Lawrence Wilkes of Mason, Michigan passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his residence. Age 65 years.
Gary Lawrence Wilkes was born January 29, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to Arcelia and Richard Wilkes. Gary was employed at M&M Concrete Contractors for 27 years before retiring. After retirement, he began working part-time at Darrells Food & Hardware before falling ill.
Gary enjoyed Nascar Racing and #20 Matt Kenseth was his favorite driver. He shared his hobbie of Nascar racing with his brothers, Terry, Doug and Vaughn. They would call before, during, and after each race to discuss what happened and to get the others input.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 29 years, Cindy Wilkes; three sons, Josh (Holly) Wilkes, Robert (Nicole) Sherman, James (Jamie) Sherman of Sarasota, Florida; three daughters, Christine Wilkes, Billie Mendez, Emily (Robert) Becker; his mother, Arcelia Norman; eleven grandchildren, Chelsea, Angela, Dylan, Dustin, Cortlynn, Destiny, McKenzie, Jesse, Robert II, Joshua, Dykota, and unborn twin grandsons Kohlton & Kameryn due September 2013; one great- grandson, Dominic; five brothers, Doug (Betty), Terry (Yolanda), Vaughn, Kim, Edward; six sisters, Carolyn, Jean, Karen (Lee), Brenda (Ed), Marcella, Shelia; mother-in-law, Margaret Kelley; many nieces, nephews, and a very special pet Missy (Pooh).Gary was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn, a brother, Edward, and stepfather, Harley Norman.The family wishes to express a special thanks to all family members and friends for your prayers, phone calls and visits.
