Gene E. Henry Sr. 'Big Dogg'

December 30, 1947 — December 12, 2014

Mr. Gene E. Henry Sr., Big Dogg, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at his residence. Age 66 years. He was born December 30, 1947 to Emma Lou Foster Henry and Amos Henry. Our Heavenly Father said it was time for one of his angels to come home.
Gene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Gene was a retiree of General Motors Corporation and was a member of UAW Local 699. He loved and enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and visiting with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Katie Henry; four daughters, Barbara Jean Bentley, Regina Henry, Monica Henry and Sharon Henry; three sons, Kevin Earl Morris, Gene E. Henry Jr. and Branden Henry; four stepchildren, Debra Scott, Jessie Scott, Diane Thomas and Silas Scott; 21 grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Destinee' Thompson who was his "road dog"; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Georgia Blakes; three brothers, Sammie Lee Davis, Louis Davis and James Gordon; many nieces including a special niece, Sheryl Williams; many nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Big Dogg will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Lou Foster Henry and Amos Henry; two sisters, Viola McGee and his twin sister, Annie Earl Henry.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dorothy Shipman for constant friendship over the years and for preparing many meals; Kim "Man-Man" Jefferson for always being there for "Pops", and Davita Dialysis (Michigan) for kindness and caring support.
