Georgette (Durham) Sneed (Lansing)

Mrs. Georgette (Durham) Sneed passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at Medilodge of Okemos, in Okemos, Michigan. Age 69 years. She was born February 7, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan, to parents, Thomas A. and Dorothy V. Durham.

Georgette was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. She attended Lansing Sexton Highschool and later, Lansing Community College. She was employed at the State of Michigan, in the Treasury Department until her retirement. During her years of retirement, Georgette was an avid reader. She loved to work with numbers, listen to music, and spend time with family.

Georgette had a warm smile, and a loving, caring, generous heart. She was always willing to help anyone, in anyway she could. Her door was always open to everyone, even when she was ill. Georgette shared many laughs, good times, and adventures with those closest to her throughout her life.

The family would like to express special thanks to Earlene Yarbrough for her kindness and support to our family for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Tracee (Nicholas) Faulkner of Lansing, Michigan; sons, Thomas Durham and JeMarr Sneed of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Alyssa, Maurice, Karey, Kearah, Nicholas, Jr., Jalen, Kyra, and Jaycob, all of Lansing, Michigan; great-grandchildren, London, Josh, Jr., and Zenaida; sister, Deanna Perry of Acworth, Georgia; nieces, Crystal of Michigan, Shannon of Georgia, Melissa of Ohio, Doresa of Alabama; 5 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews; and many beloved cousins.

Georgette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick Sneed; parents, Thomas and Dorothy Durham; brothers, James and Dean Williams; and sister, Marietta Jones.
