Georgia Mae Brooks (Lansing)

Ms. Georgia Mae Brooks was sent from the Most High God on July 25,1964, delivered to her parents Jimmie and Canova Brooks, in Tutwiler Mississippi. The Most High God allowed Georgia Mae Brooks to depart from this life on November 15, 2018 at 4:45 pm at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan at the tender age of 54.

Georgia Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and blessed this family by sharing much love, encouragement, and support. She received her formal education through the Lansing School District, graduating in the year of “1982”. After receiving her high school diploma, she continued her education and received a certificate in Advertising and Marketing.

Georgia Mae was a woman of many skills and talents. She loved to crochet, knit, sing, and draw murals. She was also a lady of vast study of ancient history; she enjoyed sewing, patching up old rags and preserving the use of clothing. Georgia Mae enjoyed embracing her natural beauty by wearing cosmetics and jewelry. She loved the latest trending hair styles! For recreation and entertainment, she was a lady who embraced dancing and modeling.

Our Georgia Mae Brooks lived the life she was granted, and we thank God for the time that he allowed her to share with us!

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Canova Brooks; her loving son, Zavier (Jhari) Brooks; two brothers, Jimmie Brooks Jr. and Morris Brooks; three sisters, Oleora “Cle” Brooks, Rosemary Brooks and Joann Brooks-Jackson; five grandchildren, Dayton, Day’Onna, Day’Viance, Day’Ven, and Amareon; eight nephews, Jimmie Joel, Marcus Maurice, Morris Maurice, Terrance Delon, Robert Earl, Anthony Lamar and Rodney Emmanuel; six nieces, Brittanya Monae, Bria Monique, Tiffany Shariae, Tijuana Sharice, Canova Ruth Ann and Talisa Brooks; great nephews, nieces, many other relatives and friends including extended family members near and far.

Georgia Mae was preceded in death by her father; Jimmie Brooks Sr. in 2002; and her loving daughter, Candice Schnell Brooks in 2007.

We love you, Georgia Mae, and everyday we are cherishing every good memory!
