Ms. Georgia Marie Brewer passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 68 years. Georgia was born February 26, 1954, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Anne Thomas Jones and David L. Jones, Sr.
Georgia was a graduate of Greenville High School, Class of ’72, and was employed at the Louisiana Times News from 1984-1985. Georgia Marie resided in Saginaw, Michigan, though through and through she was a country girl, who loved homemade soul food. She loved baking from scratch; she enjoyed laughing, joking, cleaning, and making people smile when not in the kitchen. Georgia had a heart of gold. She was a wise sage of wisdom, eager to impart the realities of life to those willing to listen. Marie was truly a willow tree in the wind, willing to bend yet not break. Never once did she fail to show her love and support for her children.
Georgia leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Audrey Brewer, and Alfreda Brewer; two sons, Joseph Lee Jones, and Dalanius Montell Jones (Thomasine Nickleberry); grandchildren, Tershyria M. Jones, Norma Degroat, Katoya Brewer, Dalanius M. Jones Jr., Marianna Jones, Marcus Jones, and Legend Leon Nathan; great-grandmother, Laura Vaughn; three sisters, Delores Ann Jones, Patrice Ann Jones-Wise, and Debra Jones-Ball; nieces, Giselle Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Alice Jones, Yolonda Jones, and Nicole Jones; nephew, Nathaniel Wise, and Angie Wise; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Gloria F. Smith, Margaret Stuckett, Davilda Stephenson, Gail Jones, Rose Cain, Carl (Tina) Pollard, Mr. Williams, and her close personal friend, Denitra Harper.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Brewer; parents, David L. (Annie) Jones; five brothers, David L., Phillip L., Clayton L., Randolph L., and Malcolm L. Jones; and a special friend, Edgar Stuckett.
