Gerald E. Runyon (Lansing)

Mr. Gerald E. Runyon peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County in Owosso, Michigan surrounded by family. He was 86 years old. Gerald was born July 15, 1936 to Gerald Leslie and Velma Dorothy Runyon in Yakima, Washington.

Gerald loved being outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, working in the church community garden, engineering projects, and building and fixing things. Gerald also loved his church family at Robinson Memorial Church of God in Christ where he served as an Elder. He especially loved listening to gospel music.

Gerald worked and retired as a draftsman in the Department of Highway and Transportation for the State of Michigan in Lansing.

He leaves to cherished his memory one son, Gerald (Laura) Runyon of Lansing, Michigan; two daughters, Pamela Couter of Lansing, Michigan, Kimberly Cuellar of Weatherford, Texas; seven grandchildren, Amanda Waite of Lansing, Michigan, Devon Coulter of Charlotte, Michigan, Leslie Runyon of Cedar Spring, Michigan, Katie Runyon of Lansing, Michigan, Dominic Cuellar and Demetris Cuellar both of Weatherford, Texas, Aidan Coulter of Lansing, Michigan; four sisters, Patricia Nichols and Ruth Becker both of East Lansing, Michigan, Nancy (Ronald) Cornell of Seattle, Washington, Martha Runyon of Haslet, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Frank Laverdiere of Lansing, Michigan.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; sister, Dorothy Laverdiere; brother, Johnny Runyon; brothers-in-law, Robert Nichols and Terry Becker.
