The Scroll of Life

Her Departure

Geraldine transcended to her eternal rest to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 1, 2017 in Hesperia, California at the age of 75. She fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith.

His Earthly Reign

Geraldine, the eldest of 15 children born to the union of Moses, Sr. and Doris Terry, in Alton, Illinois on March 13, 1942.

A Glimpse into Her Life

Geraldine received her formal education thru the Alton, Illinois School District before relocating to Lansing, Michigan where she continued her education at Lansing Community College in the business program. Geraldine accepted Christ early in her life as her personal Savior. She retired from the Department of Agriculture for the State of Michigan after 18 ½ years of dedicated service as a secretary.

“A Virtuous Woman”

Geraldine will always be remembered as a woman that loved God, family, friends, and church! She never tired of doing work for the Lord and bringing souls to Christ.

Geraldine’s passion was encouraging young people to display their God-given talents for the Lord. She founded the Gospel Silhouettes choir at St. Paul COGIC (now known as Robinson Memorial COGIC) and served as the choir president under the leadership of the late pastor, Elder Perry Robinson. Whenever a ride was needed to get to rehearsal or service, she would provide rides to those in need. She was instrumental in bringing gospel artist to Lansing such as; Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Shirley Caesar, and the Clark Sisters. She later became a charter member of New St. Paul COGIC under the leadership of the late Supt. Elder Jessie Lee Williams, and continued to serve faithfully under the succeeding pastor, Elder Del Gregory. Down thru the years she served in a number of capacities; Purity Class President, YPWW President, CWC President, Worship Leader, and District Missionary for District #15, just to name a few.

“Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant”

Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, Wayne (Patricia) Terry, Karen Terry, Robin (Curtis) Thompson, Spencer Shepherd, and Darwin (Amber) Shepherd; six step-daughters, Pat, Vivian, Gayle, Lisa, Paula, Sheronda (Tony) Williams; two step-sons, Ricky and Dennis; brothers, Douglas, Frank, Danny, Howard, Gregory (Janice), Donald, Timothy; sisters, Mozella Durden, Annette (Andy) Waller; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

A Time To Mourn

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph “Rudy” Shepherd, parents, sister, Margaret, brothers, Moses, Jr., Steven, Larry, and Jerry, step-son, Rudy, Jr., and Kyle, step-daughter, Sheryl Kimberly
