Gladys Chandler

Our beloved mother, Gladys Wilson Chandler passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at her residence. Age 84 years. She was born August 6, 1931 in Progress, Mississippi to Edgar and Lillie Mae Wilson.
Gladys was the Head Mother for many years at Mercy Temple, Zion Valley New Missionary and at her present church, Jacobs Ladder Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor K.T. Draine. She worked numerous jobs throughout her lifetime. Gladys enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed watching western movies and wrestling.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Nina (Willard) Sparks, Exsie and Teiawana Chandler; two sons, Clifton and Donnie Chandler; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilhelmina (Curtis) Morrison of Laplace, Louisiana; many other relatives and friends including Pastor K.T. Draine and the Jacobs Ladder Baptist Church family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Lillie Wilson, two sons, Charles Edward and Ronnie Chandler, one grand-daughter, Tracy Michelle Chandler, two sisters, Ola Mae Jones and Mary Lou Magee, three brothers, Edward, Willis and Wilford F. Barnes.
