Glenn Bender

November 16, 1960 — August 21, 2011

Mr. Glenn E. Bender (Panky) passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Columbia Eastside Medical Center. Age 50 years. He was born November 16, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan to George Sr. and Georgia Bender.
Glenn resided in Lawrenceville, Georgia where he managed storage units, he previously worked in security in Las Vegas, NV. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1978 where he played football. He accepted Christ at an early age where he attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church and later joined Bethel A.M.E Church. He showed an interest in music at the age of three and that continued throughout his adult life. He played in numerous bands including Central Jr. High School and
Saginaw High School. He had major success with Hunts Determination Band recording albums and opening for major acts. He later showed an interest in gospel music where he played for Bethel A.M.E. Choir recording a gospel CD. He played drums and bass, writing all the songs on his CD.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shari Bender; two sons, Daniel Bender and Seth Bender, all of Lawrenceville, GA; mother, Georgia Bender; grandmother, Mary Crumpton, Montgomery, AL; sister, Giselle Bender, all of Saginaw, MI; brothers, George Bender, Saginaw, MI, Gary Bender, Houston, TX, Greg Bender, Las Vegas, NV; nieces, Tamesha Lindsey, Ginga Kimbro, both of Saginaw, MI, Victoria Klains, Flint, MI, Christine Bender, Houston, TX; nephews, Preston Lindsey, Atlanta, GA, George Bender III, Saginaw, MI, Dwight Kimbro II, Phoenix, AZ; aunts, Rosiebelle Stallworth, Haynesville, AL, Maeselena Mullins, Jacksonville, FL, Patricia (Tyrone) Ruffin, Silversprings, MD; uncles, Jim Henry (Beatrice) Bender, Saginaw, MI, McKensley (Ann) Crumpton, Grand Blanc, MI, Johnny Crumpton, Westland, MI, Henry (Gwen) Crumpton, Montgomery, AL, Marshall (Lisa) Crumpton; father-in-law, Rick Blasch, Bay City, MI; brother-in-law, Chad Blasch; godbrother, John (Val) Williams; many other relatives and friends including first wife, Genevieve Cannon.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Bender Sr.; grandparents, Alan (Minnie) Crumpton and Sam (Waddie) Bender.
