Gloria Fay Brown

Ms. Gloria Fay Brown was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare Harrison, while surrounded by her family. She was born on April 8, 1953, to Lula Bell Richardson and John E. Fayne, in Munford, Tennessee.

Gloria was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1971. She was a former member of New Life Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Rufus Bradley. Gloria was a firm believer in Jesus Christ; she loved the Lord very much. Gloria was employed at Saginaw Intermediate School District (SISD) for over 15 years and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a sweet, charismatic, funny, independent, free-spirited, un-materialistic, passionate, and talkative woman. Gloria was very generous but most of all loving. She enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, watching all of Tyler Perry’s sitcoms, and ending her night scrolling and posting on Facebook.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and three sons: Marcus Fayne, Shanwda (Jamarr Sr.) York, Calvin (Tanisha) McWright, and Robert McWright; eight grandchildren: Jamarr, Jermaine, Jamontae, Martreona, Jamel, Jordyn, Marriona, and Aubrey; six great-grandchildren: Jamarr III, Ja’Nyah, Aliyah, Adonis, MaLaya, and Jaylon Jr; many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her beyond measure.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Bell Richardson; father, John E. Fayne; stepfather, Lenwood Richardson, grandmother, Fannie Mae Austin; stepbrother, David Sneed; two grandchildren, Ja’Niyah and Marcus Fayne Jr; and three aunts, Barbara, Katherine, and Kate Austin.
