Gloria Ann Hannah passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Saginaw Senior Care. Age 69 years. She was born September 25, 1944 in Parrish Alabama to Evelyn Hannah and Edward Madison.
Gloria relocated from Fayette, Alabama to Saginaw, Michigan in June of 1967. She loved attending church and became a member of Freewill Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor James L. Dorsey. She later joined Rose of Sharon Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Elder Louis C. Knox and was most recently a member of New Life Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Bishop Zachary Williamson. Gloria was employed by the Saginaw Board of Education for 17 years. She worked as a Custodian at various locations throughout the community. Gloria was a dutiful parent who believed in the old tradition, Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Gloria loved flowers and was passionate about gardening. She was a compassionate person who was always willing to help others. Gloria was a prayerful woman who had no problem calling on the Lord. Her presence will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sharon (Tommy) Harvey and Follin Hannah, both of Saginaw, Michigan; one son, Phillip Maurice Hannah of Livonia, Michigan; five grandchildren, Tamika, Markita, Tacara and Tovonna Hannah, Marquell Hulett; one great-grandchild, Marlarious Hannah-Blacksher; one sister, Annie Pearl (Elmore) Rainer of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; one niece, Wanda Faye Madison of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three nephews, Elmore (Shalonda) Rainer Jr., Delvin ( Yolonda) Rainer and Kerry Rainer, all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; cousins, Erainer Redmond of Fayette, Alabama, Sherman (Camelia) Redmond of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Doris Yancey and Linda Cook, both of Birmingham, Alabama, Marie Payne of Lincoln, Nebraska; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Herb Thompson, Bernice (William) Dix, Rose Prescott, Taunja (TJ) Green, Lisa Eiland, Detra Williams and Audrionne Garette-Williams.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Hannah and Edward Madison; one sister, Edreamer Hannah; one brother, Eugene Hannah; aunts and uncles, Hattie Jones, Jet Greene, Albert Greene and Sam Jones; special friend, Effie Eiland.
