Mrs. Gloria Wicker St. Pierre was born June 8, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Lawrence and Willie Mae Wicker. She went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the blessed age of 81 years.
Gloria proudly graduated from Saginaw High School’s first class on Webber Street in 1955. She completed courses in home nursing and as a nurses’ aide May 17, 1973. She successfully earned a diploma as a dental assistant on February 23, 1987 and previously worked at the Salvation Army Eventide residence on Burt Street.
Gloria grew up in the Ninth Street Mennonite Church. In 2014, Gloria, along with her niece Tiffany, rededicated her life to Christ at Center Road Church and was also recently baptized. Before her passing, she was a member of World Outreach Campus under the leadership of Pastor Hurley Coleman, Jr.
Gloria was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a natural nurturer and caretaker which made her an excellent nurse. She was full of compassion and empathy. Her memory will be forever etched in our hearts.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Jones St. Pierre; parents, Lawrence and Willie Mae Wicker; sisters, Erma Della Wicker-Terrell and an infant sister; brothers, Lawrence Jr. and Bruce Wicker.
She leaves to celebrate her life four sisters, Betty Gaines, Margie Evans, Beatrice Foster, Mary Williams; one brother, Thomas (Molly) Wicker; aunt, Ruby Wicker-Williams; great-niece whom she adored and loved with all her heart, Tiffany Arnett; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to Gloria’s three special nieces, Sherrie Williams, Kathy and Danyelle Rouster, Visiting Physicians Association, Helping Hands, A & D Home Services, Nurse Rosalind McCray, Lakeside Village Staff and Residents, World Outreach Campus Church, Ivan E. Phillips, Lynnette Scott and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
