Mrs. Glory D. Belvin, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper at the age of 65. Glory was born February 19, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Tommy V. Green and Queen E. King.
She attended Saginaw High School. After completing high school, she began pursuing a career in the food industry. Glory was selfless, humorous, empathetic, fun-loving, and a driven individual. She loved music, cooking, and playing Tunk. She cherished the time spent with family and friends. Glory was deeply loved by many; her home was always the gathering place for all the neighborhood children, earning the reputation of “the fun house.” “Big Glo” was responsible for creating beautiful memories for them that will last a lifetime, at 720 Cherry Street. She was a pillar of strength for her family.
"Big Glo" leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be etched in our hearts. She is survived by six children, Tasha Green, Lula, Belvin, Ebony Collins, Diane Belvin, William Belvin, and Wibert Belvin; eight grandchildren, Jada Charleston, Ja’lieah Charleston, Jaymontay Laster, Laniaja Wearrien, Willis Ramsey, Brian Lindsey Jr., Oligario Servantez, and Kaden Holden; five siblings: Linda Boiton, Brenda Banks, Jacqueline Webster, Berlin Green, and Bridget Hadley; two brothers: Gregory Green and Danny Green; her favorite aunt, Mary Alice McKinley; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; one brother-in-law, Clinnon Johnson; and many other relatives and friends, including special friends Sharon Burgin, Kisha Glasper, and Theresa Hines.
Glory was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Belvin; parents, Tommy V. Green and Queen E. King; one son, Tommy Green Jr.; four brothers, Tommy Jr., Lanny, Victor, and Johnathan Green; two sisters, Robin Green and Dorothy Belvin; uncles, Garfield King, Lexington Miles, Sammy E. Miles, and Jimmie L. Mctory; aunts, Tommie Nell Miles, Sara A. Mactor, and Tominail Roy Lee, nephew Terence L. Johnson; and her grandmother Nellie Miles.
Glory's love for dance cards and family will be deeply missed, especially by her children, Diane, Wilbert, Ebony, William, Lula, and Tasha, and her grandchildren, Jada, Ja’lieah, Jaymontay, Laniaja, Oilargio, and Brian.
