Glorynell E. Coleman was born January 13, 1934 to Oakareada McGowan and Ipson Evans in Gettings, Texas. She transitioned on September 26, 2018 with her family by her side.
Mother Coleman was educated in the Saginaw Public Schools System. She held several jobs during her career, working diligently to provide for her family. Mother Coleman was a faithful member of New Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, ending her service as a church mother under the leadership of her nephew, Dr. Charles H. Coleman, Sr.
Mother Coleman loved God, enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing and cracking jokes. She also enjoyed reading her Bible. Her favorite scripture was the Psalm 27. Mother Coleman was married to Eugene Coleman, Sr. and to that union was born four children – Ronnie (Patricia), Willie T., Eugene, Howard and Linda Coleman. Her stepchildren were Lester (Debra) and Mattie Weston.
Besides her children she leaves two sisters, Anna Faye Washington, Troy, Michigan, Bennie L. Williams, Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Willie Lanell, Glorya Ipson (Lillie), Linda, Demarcus, Jamarcus, Eugene, Dorian, Wakisha, Terrance, Keisha, Lacarol, Cierra, Shirley, Kristyle, Serita, Latoya, Anthony, Ahmad, Terri, Jan-nice; niece, Eunice and nephew J.T. (Shirley) Ervin; special great-grandson, Dequonne; cousins, the entire H.J. Coleman, Sr. Family, Phillis Wicker Family; a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends, including Supt. J.E. Walker, Jr., Supt. Harold and Althea Jones, Supt. James and Rita Wells, Cynthia, Lana, karen, Pankie, Rose, Monique, Ethel Dugan, Eva Poindexter, Sabrina, the Dottery Family, Cleophus Bray, Ernestine R. and Willie, Jeannie Young, Robert Marshall and Raymond, Mother Watkins, Elder James and Karen Lewis, Elder Bryson, Mother Nellie McCollouh, Mother R. Pittman and Family, Mary Ross, Elder Carey Williams, , Lois Garrett, Sammy L. Evans, best friend Grace Love and nephew Gregory Wilson, Sr.
Mother Coleman was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Samuel D., Glen A., Timothy, Isaac Evans; sisters, Lillie Evans, Lucille Ervin; brother-in-law, Dr. H.J. Coleman, Sr.; sister-in-law, Dr. M.W. Coleman; niece, Hurlette Coleman-Dickens.
