Gregory Taylor (Lansing)

April 1, 1956 — January 22, 2021

Mr. Gregory A. Taylor passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on January 22, 2021, at home in Lansing, Michigan. Age 64 years. He was born on Easter, April 1, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest son of Helen N. (Strickland) and Gray Taylor.

As a military dependent, Greg traveled and attended school in various places including Japan, Michigan, and Germany. He graduated from Oscoda High School and completed two years at Ferris State University. Greg was an electrician and loyal member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 665. He was a great athlete and enjoyed nature despite having allergies. He lived simply, was an avid reader and collector of news articles, magazines, and books about music, health, self-help, and business as well as enjoying cooking. He was respected for his strong work ethic and musical talent. Not only did he play a variety of string, wind, and percussion instruments throughout his life, but he also owned a recording studio, and motivated many budding artists to excel in their craft. He loved making people smile and making a bad situation something to laugh at.

He is survived by two sons, Kendall R. Taylor and Gray J. Taylor; two daughters, Rebecca L. Taylor and Rachel M. Taylor; seven grandchildren; father, Gray Taylor; siblings, Yvette Taylor, Rhonda (Bruce) Williams, Karen Cauley, and James (Bernice) Taylor; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Greg was predeceased by his mother, Helen N. Taylor.
