Mr. Harry Davis departed this life on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his residence. Age 74 years. He was born April 5, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee to Gene and Ella Davis.
Harry accepted Christ at an early age when he became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Millington, Tennessee. Harry joined Doris Taylor in holy matrimony. He was a faithful employee of Grey Iron Foundry for over 25 years. After retirement he enjoyed doing yard work, playing bingo and spending time with friends and family. His presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Doris Davis; four daughters from a previous marriage, Charlotte R. Davis, Rachael L. Johnson (Dan Thomas), Zina B. Davis and Tamara Donald; two stepchildren, Neal and Victor Taylor; his grandchildren, Leron Davis, Dan Johnson, Angela (Courtney) Estes, Michelle Johnson, Zina Johnson, Travon Culpepper, LaRosa L. Brown, Amariea Donald and Kareem Donald; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo (Luella) Davis; many other relatives and friends including his special friends, James Jackson and Ada Childress.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Ella Davis, one daughter, Cathy Davis, three sisters, Artis M. Smith, Jean Ethel Smith and Lou Catherine Payne, one grand-daughter, Erica Davis, one great-grandchild, Zoniya Young.
The family wishes to express special thanks to his niece, Carlather Wiggins for being his compassionate caregiver and the staff of Heartland Hospice Care. A very special thanks to Lioudmila Kinachtchouk MD.
