"Her Life"
Hattie B. Frazier was born on August 11, 1952, in Blytheville, Arkansas to the parentage of Charles “Chauncey” Frazier and Elizabeth Brimlett Frazier. She grew up in a loving Christian family. Hattie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Scott. She graduated from Blytheville High School in Blytheville, Arkansas. She attended Shorter College in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her favorite sport was basketball.
"Her Legacy"
Hattie relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1979, seeking greater opportunities for her family. She united with New Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Lansing, Michigan where she sang in the choir, served on the usher board, drove the church van, worked in vacation bible school, wherever she could be of help, Hattie was a willing worker. She remained a faithful member there for over thirty years until her health began to fail. Her favorite song was “I Shall Wear a Crown”, she called it “Put on My Robe.” She loved talking about the Lord. She had a kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Hattie dearly loved her sons, family, pastor, and church family.
Upon her relocating to Lansing, she began working for Mary Avenue Nursing Home as a nursing assistant for several years. In 1988, she was successful in gaining employment for the State of Michigan at the Secondary Complex for Michigan Department of Transportation where she held several position including union steward. Hattie retired after 17 years of dedicated service.
"Her Transition"
On Monday, March 21, 2022, Hattie received her letter of notice to bade her family farewell and begin the journey from her earthly home to her eternal home at age 69 years. At the time of her transition, Hattie was receiving her care from Medilodge of Capital Area in Lansing, Michigan. To know her was to LOVE her. Hattie will be missed by so many.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Kenneth (Yalanda) Frazier, Sr. and Christopher Kevin Hicks, both of Lansing, Michigan; sister, Minister Lillie M. (Lawrence) Daily of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, Will Frazier of Blytheville, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Louise Frazier of Blytheville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives including nieces, nephews, and friends.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Mageline Frazier Franklin, Martha Frazier Lasenburg, Virgie Frazier Benton, Rebecca Frazier Embry; brother, Charles Frazier Jr.; beloved grandson, Kenneth “Cookie” Frazier Jr.; nephews, Larry Dewaine Jones, James Franklin Jr., and Marvin Lee Frazier; nieces, Annette Lasenburg, Donna Andrews, and LaShune Renee Allen.
