Hattie Flournoy (Lansing)

Mrs. Hattie Flournoy, a longtime resident of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Thursday, June 9, at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Age 69 years. She was born September 15, 1946 to Johnnie and Bertha Webb in Frenchman Bayou, Arkansas.



Hattie worked and retired from the State of Michigan. After retiring, she continued her passion for gardening and collecting Asian decor and artifacts. Hattie loved gardening, reading, shopping, traveling, and had a smile that could light up the room. She had a very giving heart. Hattie was driven by purely altruistic reasons by volunteering her service within her church, facilitating "Toys for Tots", putting together Thanksgiving dinners for those in need and anyone who needed a helping hand. In addition to her giving heart, Hattie was often sought after for her sage advice by many dear to her.



She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Samuel Flournoy; sons, Ray (Julie) Nick, Robert (Daphne) Nick; grandchildren, RaShawn Gonzales, Danielle Nick, Robert Levon Nick, Tiffany Nick, Larissa Gonzales, Rayshell Nick, Shantell Nick and Sharita Myles; great-grandchildren, Niya Douglas and James Hodge; sisters, Ora B. Fuller, Jannie Mae Porter and Mary Alice Velasquez; brothers, James Wallace and Tommie (Ernestine) Lee Wallace, all of whom brought great joy to her later years.



Hattie is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Johnnie Webb and sister, Johnnie B. Whitt.
