Mrs. Helen Rosetta Anderson returned to her heavenly home on December 27, 2019. Age 89 years. She was born May 9, 1930 to the late Edgar and Daisy Goolsby in Atlanta, Georgia. Helen was a person of elegance and dedication. She was known as a giving, encouraging and caring person.
Helen moved to Michigan and fulfilled her dream of becoming a cosmetologist. God opened many doors for Helen and she gained her certification to be a cosmetology instructor. She owned a beauty salon for many years mentoring and training others, helping them to fulfill their dreams. Helen worked for Starr Commonwealth, a facility for youth. She was a foster parent to many and worked at various schools mentoring our youth. Helen was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious peach cobbler. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting gifts for family and friends.
Throughout her lifetime, Helen developed a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. In 1982, she joined Bethel Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed singing and worshipping the Lord, her service to God included working with the Hospitality Committee, working with the Dorcas Society and serving as a Deaconess. Helen truly loved and appreciated her church family.
Helen was blessed with a loving family. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jessie (Pastor Sarah) Wallace Jr.; her daughter Minister Sue (Charles) Milner. No sacrifices were too great for her grandchildren, Sharese, Alvin, Jamar, Merria, Jessie III, Tammy, Otis II, Charles II and Shawn. The sweet memories of Helen will remain among a multitude of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Helen will also be forever remembered by special cousins, Ann, Jeraldine, and Brenda; her uncle, Charles Riley; close friends Louise, Duchess, Elder Christine Johnson and Pastor Eddie and Minister Mayla Lloyd.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edgar and Daisy Goolsby, beloved sister, Alice Franklin and three of her five children; Joetta Bowers, Samuel Wallace and Todd Miles.
