Helen Joann Spivey

Mrs. Helen JoAnn Spivey passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare Center Greenview in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the age of 82 years. She was born on April 12, 1935 to William R. Campbell, Sr. and Hazel B. Campbell in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Helen was a former resident of Saginaw, Michigan where she had attended Ruben Daniels Lifelong Learning Center and earned her high school diploma and Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age. She loved to dance and spend time with her grandchildren. Helen worked in the home healthcare field for years. She enjoyed cooking, music and traveling, and was like a mother to all. Helen JoAnn Spivey will be truly missed by family, friends, and others whose lives she touched.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters; Hazel B. Campbell, Patricia Smith, Artemisher Spivey (Clay Carmichael) and Ronella Spivey (Gregory Smith); two sons, Alonzo Watson and Michael Spivey; three stepchildren, Timothy Spivey, John Henry Spivey, Jr., Gloria Spivey; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Johnette Jackson; two brothers, William Randolph Campbell, Jr. and Isaac James Campbell; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Gaines, Alisha Tinsley and Gloria Jones; special friends, Barbara of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Lillie Harris, Saginaw, Michigan.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Spivey, Sr.; two sons, Vernon Spivey and Paul E. Smith; granddaughter, Sandra Hall, and her parents, William and Hazel Campbell.
