Henry Ii (Lansing) Hursey

February 8, 1973 — February 8, 2017

Henry Hank Hursey, II went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 44 years. He was born February 8, 1973 to Henry, Sr. and Lillie Hursey in Lansing, Michigan.
Henry graduated from the Lansing School District. He had a natural love for cooking great food for his family and friends. That inspired him to enroll in the culinary program at Lansing Community College, where his love of cooking was enhanced even more. Hank became an entrepreneur and opened two eateries, Hanks 517 and later Hank Plates.
In 2011, Hank found the Lord and was baptized by Pastor Stan Parker. Under the guidance of Pastor Parker, Hank served the Lord using his culinary skills at the Faith Fellowship Culinary Ministry and Eastside Community Centers afterschool program. He founded Eastside Champion Awards Banquet, Lunch on Us Program and started the Annual Christmas Day for the Community. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, he volunteered at the John Knox Food Pantry.
Hank thought he was a great fisherman, but some of us thought differently. As Hank would say, F$%& em. Hank was a very loving husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.
