Mr. Henry Jackson passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Age 86 years. He was born March 3, 1929 in Sheridan, Arkansas to Mrs. Bertha Dreyer.
Mr. Jackson was educated in Grant County, Arkansas. After leaving Arkansas, Henry moved to Chicago, Illinois, later relocating to Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of St. Luke C.M.E. Church where he was devoted to the Male Chorus. Henry loved talking to residents of the community, and his favorite hobby, when he was healthy, was fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one niece, Edna E. Allen; two nephews, Sidney E. Mathious and Alton L. Davis; three cousins, Bernice Williams, Annie B. Ford and Netty Hamilton. Henry will be truly missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.
Henry was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Dreyer, sister, Hattie M. Allen, niece, Ella F. Allen, nephew, Ray C. Burkett, and his step-parents, Freddie and Bennie Mays.
The family would like to express special thanks to Henry's caretaker, Cheryl Moore, Pastor Joyce Braddock-Redfearn and the St. Luke CME Church family, the staff at Luther Manor, and Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
