Henry Johnson

April 14, 1939 — May 16, 2013

Mr. Henry James Johnson passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare Center. Age 74 years. He was born April 14, 1939 in Union Springs, Alabama to Jobie and Idella Johnson.
Henry was a member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Davis Jr. He retired from General Motors Grey Iron Foundry after 47 years of faithful service. He was a member of UAW Local 668. Every year Henry looked forward to attending the annual Alabama Camp Meeting in his home state of Alabama. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and basketball. Henry loved spending time with his wife and youngest son. Gone but never forgotten, his presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ella Johnson; five sons, Meecko D. Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan, Henry Lee Johnson, Harold (Jacquelynne) Johnson, Townsend, Delaware, James Eric Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan, Mecko (Jayneice) Johnson, Fortson, Georgia; one daughter, Sharon Ann Campbell, Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Emma McFadden, Velma (Malcolm) Roach, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Annie Johnson, Brooklyn, New York, Linda Johnson, Montgomery, Alabama, Idella Johnson, Columbus, Georgia; three brothers, Albert (Louise) Johnson, Willie Frank Johnson, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Bob (Annie Jane) Johnson, Union Springs, Alabama; two god-children, DarIyona Black and Nevaeh Hopkins; many other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Idella and Jobie Johnson, brothers, Bobby Johnson and Richard Johnson, sisters, Tommie Burden, Willie Seal Johnson, Lula Adams, mother-in-law, Scottie Wolfe.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Stacy and April at Hoyt Nursing Home and the staff of Heritage Healthcare Center of Flint, Michigan.
