Henry Lokey, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. Henry Melvin Lokey, Jr., passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, Michigan, Age 72 years. Henry was born October 26, 1949, in Lansing, Michigan to parents, Henry and Gertrude Lokey.

Henry was raised in the Lansing and East Lansing areas and was a self-proclaimed “hippy”. He went on to own his own painting business, “Henry’s painting”. He was also in several bands as a drummer, later starting his own band named “Liberty”. Henry loved to fish and deer hunt, though he never shot a deer. He always knew the best places to camp and never told a dull story. Henry was a great guy and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Henry lovingly cared for his wife, Cheryl, up until the very day she passed away.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Bailey (Flora) Minnieweather and Abigail Nichole Singletary; nieces, Jennifer Kay and Sarah (Zach) Glass; nephew, Andrew Kay; sister-in-law, Pat Steinhoff-Lokey; and many other relatives and friends including special friends, Roni, Austin, Joe, Davey, Don, Kris, Snake, Ruby, and Paul.

Henry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cheryl Lokey; parents, Henry and Gertrude Lokey; sister, Susan Kay; and brother, Tom Lokey.
