Henry W. Chewning Jr. of Lansing, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital. Age 57 years. Henry was born August 15, 1954 in Lansing, Michigan to Henry Chewning Sr. and Viola Roper Barnes.
He attended J. W. Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan. He was employed with Peckham Incorporation as a laborer. Henry loved to sing and enjoyed listening to music. He was a loving father, son, brother and grandfather. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Jamaica Washington of Ann Arbor, Michigan; one son, Morisse Washington of Carson City, Michigan; three grandchildren, Keon, Isabel and Nya; one sister, Claudia (Stephen) Ward of Lansing, Michigan; one brother, John (Shirley) Crutcher of Lansing, Michigan; brother -in-law, Willie James Barnett of Elberton, Georgia; special nieces and nephews, Tina and Gilbert Matthews, Mercedes, Shalea, Starice; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Allena Clem, Eric, Arthur Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viola Chewning, one sister, Rosa Lee Barnett.
