Mr. Herbert Thompson passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his residence. Age 70 years. He was born on June 30, 1947 in Duncan, Mississippi to Lewis James Thompson and Lue Bertha Brown-Lee.
Herbert moved to Saginaw, Michigan during his youth where he began working for General Motors Corporation and was a member of the UAW Local Union. He also worked for a number of years at Sears, Inc. Herbert enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to listen to rhythm and blues, and fishing as his favorite pastime. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his five sons, Leadelle Phelon, Herbert (Debra) Thompson, Jr., Edward Aldrin Thompson, Erick Thompson, and Derrick (Octavia) Thompson; one brother, Melvin (Shirley) Thompson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; many other relatives and friends, including special friend, Dorties Thompson and special nephew, Lonzie Brodnax.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis James Thompson and Lue Bertha Brown-Lee; four brothers, Benjamin Franklin, Lewis James Thompson, Edward Thompson, and Aaron Thompson; twin sisters, Anell and Vonell Thompson; special sister-in-law, Creda “Baby Sister” Thompson; one son, Timothy D. Phelon; one daughter, Sharon Evette Thompson; and best friend, Tommy “Timbo” Sullivan.
