Ms. Hester Fry passed away Friday, April 2, 2021, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 59 years. She was born April 3, 1961, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to her parents Simon Fry, Sr. and Hester Joyce.
Hester moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1980, with her daughter from Clarksdale, Mississippi. She worked as a switchboard operator at Ingham Regional Hospital and for Lansing Housing Commission. She loved to cook and do gardening. Hester was the best mother as well as an awesome Granma. She loved to help and take care of people. Hester would feed anyone that was hungry. She was fun, funny and very outgoing, always the life of the party. She will be missed dearly and loved always.
Hester leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Terase (Lavor) Jennings; 2 sons, Robert (Tiarrie) Fry and Frederick Fry (Shanell Croom); her partner of 29 years, Clement Waddy; stepson, Clement Waddy, Jr.; grandchildren, Alexis Woodard, Arianna Holbrook, Alicia Walls, Robert Fry, Jr., Nevaeh Case, Marissa Fry, Arissa Fry, Jeremiah Fry, Emonii Adams, Ryleigh Fry, Zaria Fields and Zarge Fields; great-grandchildren, Noah Holbrook, Icelynn Holbrook, Katalaya Nance, Kali Nance, Kaiyah Nance, Florentino Nance, Jr. and Breylyn Fry; 6 siblings, Johnnie Lawrence, Priscilla (Harrison) Willis, Lucy Davis (Lee Andrew), R. B. (Melissa) Fry, Mary Hooper, and Simon Fry, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Hattie Cedeno.
Hester was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Fry, Sr. and Hester Joyce; sisters, Betty Jean Hawkins and Edna Fry; brother, John Fry, and nephew, Jacob Fry.
