Holly S. (York) Mckinney

Holly S. (York) McKinney passed away on Wednesday morning, September 21, 2016 from a very rare form of Brain Cancer called Leptomenogeo. Age 48 years. Holly Sue York was born January 18, 1968 in Saginaw, Michigan to Jim York and Tassie (Sian) York.


Holly graduated from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in 1986. She then attended Delta College for a few years. Holly was a member of the Midland Nazarene Church and enjoyed attending services there. She was formerly married to Robert Todd McKinney who survives her. Holly was self-employed, operating her own cleaning business for commercial and residential properties. She enjoyed cooking, boating and spending time with her daughter, Victoria Grace McKinney.

Surviving besides her daughter is one son, Austin James Sylvester; one sister, Shanti Hickey, and her companion, Michael Michalski; one nephew, James (Baby Jimmy) Westerguard, and many cousins.

Holly was predeceased by one brother, James (Jimmy) C. York; also one niece, Schuyler Hickey, and her grandparents, Ernie and Sophie York and Al and Jane Johnson.

According to Hollys wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Midland Nazarene Church, 5700 Jefferson Avenue, Midland, Michigan. Pastor Dave Anderson will officiate.

Hollys wishes for her service are that everyone remains upbeat and enthusiastic and shares happy memories of her. She wants everyone to live, love, laugh and party on as she has moved on to join God in her eternal life.
