Mr. Houston Washington (Billy) passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at Covenant-Healthcare-Cooper. Age 69 years. Houston was born July 24, 1940 in Stamps, Arkansas to Reuben and Locie Washington.
Houston was a former member of Ninth Street Mennonite and First Christian Church, later joining Jacobs Ladder Church Ministries. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, riding and socializing with family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Yvonne (Smith) Washington; four daughters and three sons, Charisse Washington-Thomas, Savannah, GA, Andrea (Kinmost) Shacks, Kevin Washington, James Washington, Sybil (Demetrius) Stokes, Lloyd Washington, Billie (Darrell) Washington, all of Saginaw, MI; fifteen grandchildren; two great grand-children; five sisters, Betty Johnson, Bobbie Vanlanham, Doris Merrill-Washington of Saginaw, MI, Mary Wesson, Muskegon, MI, Patricia Diane Washington, Stamps, AR; three brothers, Robert Washington, Arthur Washington of Saginaw, MI, Marcellous Washington, Dallas, TX; sisters-in-law, Betty (Rudolph) Bennett, Mary Nelson both of Fort Worth, TX, Karen Sutton, Dallas, TX; brothers-in-law, Billy Smith, Patrick R. Smith; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Locie Washington; step-mother, Eula Mae Johnson-Washington; brothers, James Washington, Gene Washington, J.C. Washington.
