Howard Jones, Sr. (Lansing)

Howard resided in Lansing, Michigan all his life. He attended the Lansing School District and graduated from Harry Hill High School. Howard enlisted in the Marines for a brief stint after his graduation from high school. After his military service, he came home and worked in construction. Howard spent most of his later years as a general laborer and contractor.  His hobbies and interest included woodshop, painting, and construction. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children, son, Howard Jones, Jr. and daughter, Sidea Glast; grandchildren, Davi’on Jones, Jayden Dilday, and Briona Moss; mother, Audrey “Archie” Jones; 5 sisters, Linda Jones, Sandra Jones, Alfreda (Anthony) Jones-Roby, and Teresa Bailey all of Lansing, Michigan, Gloria Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Cleveland Jones, Jr.; nieces, LaDena Wheeler-Goins, Amria Jones-Gill, Rhonda Jackson, Keisha McClain, Jada Jones, Kayla Jones, Dana Jones, and Asia Jones; nephews, Tyrice Jones, Darrell Jackson, Alvin Motley, Juan Jones, Asante’ Jones-Gill and special nephew, Joshua Snell; many aunts including special aunts, Martha Finklea, Mary Stokes, Bertha George, and Carrie Wheeler; uncles, Curlee Jones of Alabama, Edgar Williams and Jesse Williams; many other cousins, relatives, and friends including special friend, Pat Gatson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Jones, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Zannie & Lucy Jones and Jesse & Anna Beverly.
