Ida Steward

Ms. Ida C. Steward Martin passed on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan. Ida was born to Meek and Edna Rosetta Steward on August 13, 1944, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. 

Ms. Ida graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a member of Old Town Christian Outreach for many years. She had a fulfilling career as a social worker, serving for over a decade. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Known for her loving nature, Ida had a unique and special way of connecting with everyone she met.

Ms. Ida leaves to cherish special memories with daughter, Marquita Martin Wells; grandchildren, Shea, Devon Martin, and Monyea Haynes; brothers, George F. Steward, Michael Steward, and Marshall Steward; sisters-in-law, Josie Steward and Claudine “Penny” Fife; brother-in-law, Larry Martin; many other relatives and friends including, Glenda Love, Christine Brookins, Able Martin Jr., Kattie Beechum, goddaughters, Stacy Beemon Henry, Tomicka and Denise McCullon-Campbell, and Phyliss Forte.

Ms. Ida was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle R. Barnes and parents, Meek and Edna Rosetta Steward.
