God has gained another angel in his garden. May he rest in peace. Ike Sims was born March 1, 1920 in Pillisivey, Alabama to Allen Sr. and Martha Sims. Ike was married to Annie Will Sims, who preceded him in death. There were no children in their union.
Ike entered eternal life on Thursday, July 23, 2020. He accepted Christ at an early age and never lost his zeal for God. He came to Saginaw, Michigan for employment in 1967 with General Motors Corporation Malleable Iron Foundry, where he worked for 31 years.
Ike was a quiet and humble man. He loved taking visits to Walmart and the GDX Cinema. He loved WWF/WWE and old western movies.
Ike has been reunited with his wife, Annie Will-Sims; parents, Allen Sr. and Martha Sims; stepchildren, Johnny and Bonnie Thomas; and eleven siblings, Pearlene, Daisy, Dave, Martha Lee, Edna Bee, Joseph, Ada Will, Fred, Viola, Annie and Lillie-Bell.
Ike's spirit is carried on by his family. He leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Allen Jr. (Lillie Mae) Sims; nieces and nephews he raised as his own, Geraldine (Maurice) Southern, Geneva (Lonnie) Williams, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Ray Henderson, Flint, Michigan, Larry Henderson, Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren, Joshua (Alicia) Southern, Emmanuel (Arleayera) Southern, Jordan Southern, Jordan Southern Jr., Nyla; and the one who cared for him daily, June E. Brooks.
