In His Infinite Wisdom And Mercy, Welcomed Earl Into Eternal Rest On Friday, November 28, 2014 In Saginaw, Michigan At The Age Of 84 Years. Earl Henry Hill God

June 4, 1930 — November 28, 2014

GOD, in his infinite wisdom and mercy, welcomed Earl into eternal rest on Friday, November 28, 2014 in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 84 years. Earl Henry Hill was born June 4, 1930 in Magnolia, Arkansas to the late Elige and Roberdia Pascal Hill, the third of ten children. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at an early age. He attended school in Magnolia and in 1948 relocated to Muskegon, Michigan and in 1949 to Saginaw, Michigan. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1979. Afterwards, through his God given abilities, he taught himself how to do roofing and remodeling, repairing both the inside and outside of houses. As busy as he always was, he should have been a very rich man! But a lot of his work was for the love of his craft and allowing many to have the work done that they otherwise could not have afforded. He married his loving and devoted wife, the former Mattie Crowell Alford on May 29, 1993. She survives him.
He was the ultimate host. He loved to cook and invite his children and grandchildren whom he loved very much. We will forever remember the Friday night fish frys, the soup that Jackie and Reggie (Boo) would almost fight over and the Sundays when he made fried corn off the cobb and the best meatloaf you ever tasted!
Earl was a member of Truevine Baptist Church for many years, serving as an Usher and Trustee. He later joined Prince of Peace Baptist Church where he was a member of the Laymen, Sunday school and the Male Chorus. He was a member of UAW Local 668 and for many years a member of St. Matthews Lodge, where he did Friday night Bingo.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mattie Hill; seven daughters and three sons, Prescilla Adams, Jacqueline Hill, Sonja (Terry) Addison, Carey Cargile (Charles Bowes), Regina (Jerome) Wilson, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Laverne (William) Watson of Jackson, Mississippi, Jacqueline Hill of Cleveland, Ohio, Cedric (Stacey) Davis of Lansing, Michigan, Reginald (Patricia) Alford of Saginaw, Michigan and James Hill of New Orleans, Louisiana; one god-daughter (Granddaughter) Kaitlyn Williams of Saginaw, Michigan; three sisters and two brothers, Annie B. Gentry of Magnolia, Arkansas, Essie B. (Marvin) Turner of Waldo, Arkansas, Joyce Stephens of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas (Mary) Hill of Denver, Colorado John (Jessie) Hill of Magnolia, Arkansas; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; father-in-law, George Davis of Saginaw, Michigan; four sisters-in- law, Earlean (Charles) Robinson of White Plains, New York, Edna Jones and Jennifer Seymour both of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Lillie Hill of Eldorado, Arkansas; seven brothers-in-law, L.C. Jr. (Linda) Crowell of Camden, Arkansas, Richard (Gloria) Crowell, John (Corrine) Crowell, Earlie (Linda) Crowell and Albert Crowell all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Ralph (Judy) Steele of Dallas, Texas and Aaron (Barbara) Mitchell of Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Earma Lee Bell and Readie B. Coleman, two brothers, Wilson and Alvin Hill Jr., his mothers and father-in-law, Pastor and Mrs. L.C. Crowell, Sr. and Carey Davis.
Special thanks to Dr. Ruth Licht and her staff, Kathy of Commission on Aging, his care givers, Chenille Banks of In Your Golden Years, Marquitta, Cindy, Sue and Latosha of Reverence Hospice and Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab for their exceptional care in his final days. Also a special thanks to Millie Buie for all her help and just being there for us. And to Tierra Alford, his granddaughter and caregiver for all her help, love and concern. We Love each of you.
