Irese Wood (Lansing)

Surrounded by loving family, Mr. Irese Wood passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 65 years. Irese was born to proud parents, Enouch Carthell Wood and Jimmie Lee Palmer, on Monday, March 10, 1958, in Lansing, Michigan.

Irese was educated in the Lansing, School District. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army as a master marksman. Later, Irese would settle back in Lansing, and would work for General Motors until he retired 10 years later. Shortly after retiring, Irese relocated to Minnesota where he lived happily for 28 years. He would then move back to Lansing to spend his remaining years.

He enjoyed the time he spent playing football for the Black Hawks and was a black belt martial artist.

Irese leaves to cherish his memory, son, Dominic Irese Wood of Evansville, Indiana; daughter, Sierra M. Wood of Davie, Florida; brothers, David (Alicia)of Lansing, Michigan, Kevin (Michele) of Lansing, Michigan; Stanley of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Corean of Lansing, Michigan; aunt, Katie Sue of Lansing, Michigan; nephews, Andrew, André, Eldon (Nicole) all of Lansing, Michigan, and Oralndo (Latasha) of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces, Andrea (TJ) and Chynessia of Lansing, Michigan; Special cousins, Bobby, Deborah (Lee), and Jean all of Lansing, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Aaron (Monique) Williams of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Aaron (Rebecca) Enakirery, Emma, and Lula of Lansing, Michigan.

He is preceded in death by his father, Enouch Carthell Wood; mother, Jimmie Lee Palmer; and brother, Bruce E. Palmer.

Our family would like to thank all of the Sparrow Health Care Team. The care you all provided for our beloved Irese will never be forgotten.
