Irisintine Carter-Jones passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. Age 70 years. She was born July 10, 1942 in Greenville, Mississippi to Illinois and Plumie Baker-Carter.
Irisintine relocated to Saginaw, Michigan with her family as a young child. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Mrs. Jones loved to cook and showed off her skills at various cooking events. She became a voice for women with special needs through her work at Sister Mariettas House. Singing gospel music was one of her favorite pastimes. She was well-known at St. Pauls Church for many years. After her health began to fail and she could not attend church, she always looked forward to meeting with family and friends to study the bible. Mrs. Jones loved spending time with her grandsons. They were the apple of her eye. She loved going for rides even if it was just for ice cream and some laughs. This made her day. She was a wonderful person with a kind spirit and her presence will be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Johnnie Jones; one son, Jerry L. (Joy Peterson) Carter; grandchildren, Jerry Lee II, Taylor and Treyon Carter, Kenia Peterson; great-grandchildren, Emmanuel Peterson, Jayla Carter, DaMarion Grays; four nieces, Mary (Darrell) Sims, Stephanie (Kevin) Williams, Falesha and Kendra Heart; two nephews, Calvin Bodie and Tamar Heart; cousins, Baby-Rae, Roosevelt Bell, Gary Patterson, Toni Kimball, Monroe Carter, Sarah Flinnon, Kris Falls, Donald Carter, Tierone Vaunn, Walterine Bell, Kenny Falls, Sharon Chapman, Mary Pointzes; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Janis Stiller, Tamie Collins, Carol Wakins, Sharon, Catherine, Darlene, Neil, Carrie Sister Marietta, Mary and Stacy.
Irisintine was preceded in death by her parents, Plumie and Illinois Carter, one sister, Sadie Bodie, two brothers, Harvest Carter and Frank Heart.
The family would like to express special thanks to Sister Marietta, Sharon and Catherine.
