Isaac Isiah Barnes "Stripes"

Today we join each other to celebrate the life of Isaac Isiah Barnes “Stripes.” Isaac passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his residence in Mayville, Michigan, at the age of 32 years. He was born on July 12, 1989, in Saginaw, Michigan to Patricia Ann Barnes and Lupe Trejo.

Stripes was a joy to be around, he could always find a way to put a smile on your face by cracking jokes, sending thoughtful text messages, phone calls, or through music and dancing. He loved his family and friends and would go above and beyond to show how much he cared. Anyone close with Stripes knew that you could count on him to be there whenever you needed him. He was funny, outgoing, loving, honest, loyal, and caring, just to name a few. His grandparents taught him at a young age how to fish and that was a very cherished activity for him. He also loved music and expressing his lyrical artistry in songs; you can see it all over his social media. Stripes also loved playing basketball, and fixing bikes, but was most happy when spending time with his loved ones. He will truly be missed, but has left his mark on all of our hearts, and we will continue to let his memory live on.

Gaines; mother, Patricia Ann Barnes; father, Lupe Trejo; 3 sisters, Christina Barnes (Derrick Shine),  Latashi (Jeremy) Gonzales, Alexandria Chacon, 1 brother, Talmadge Derrell Barnes; girlfriend, Brooklyn Flores; 5 nieces, Ny’Ashia Barnes, Nikiah Nash, Sameya Hampton, Makayla Robinson, and Alyrica Calhoun; 7 nephews, Antoine Hampton II, Dwight Rodriquez Jr., Simeon Till, Laqua Adams, Travion Barnes, Jabari Fitzpatrick, and Amir McIntosh; 1 great- nephew, Jakob’e Bentley; 3 aunts, Mary Etta Barnes, Hannah Dawson, Gloria Stark; 5 uncles, Eddie, Charles, Woodrow, Willie Earl, and Randolph Barnes, as well as many close cousins, other relatives and friends including close friends but more like brothers, Elliot Robinson, Donta Lee, and families.

Stripes was preceded in death by his grandmother, Christine Barnes; grandfather, James Barnes; great-grandfather, Johnny Crosby “Gramps;” stepfather, Jose Chacon; uncles, Clarence and Willie James Barnes; aunts, Ledora and Odessa Barnes, and Rosemary Hardin; cousins, Bessie Mae and Tony Joshua, Roy Lee Blair, DeAndre Stewart, DeShawn Barnes, Jessica Wilson, Nala Wallace, and Alan Hutson.

The family expresses appreciation and special thanks to our relatives and friends who have donated, called, and prayed for our family during our time of bereavement; Pastor Angela Parks, Quick Stop, Yellow Store, In and Out, T&M Stores, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
