Jack Dean Gray passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Sparrow Health Systems – Sparrow Campus in Lansing, Michigan. Age 78 years. He was born on Wednesday, May 13, 1945, to the union of Richard and Millicent Gray in Lansing, Michigan. Jack was the eighth child of eleven children.
Jack attended Lansing Public Schools and graduated from Lansing Sexton High School where he participated in track and music. After graduation Jack was employed by Consumers Power and Michigan Electric. Some years later Jack attended Lansing Community College for the electrician apprenticeship program and became a certified electrician. For many years Jack provided affordable electrical work for the community. Anyone that knew Jack knew that he was an avid horse racing fan.
Jack leaves to cherish his memory his children, Jackquelynn, Jack II, and Jacques of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Jamelle, Jack III (who he raised for several years), Jaisean, and Jazmeka; siblings, Carol Alexander, Cherie Watson, Richard T. Gray and Margo Oliver; sister-in-law, Nancy Gray; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Millicent Gray; sister, Annette Taylor; brothers, Robert, James, Billy, Ronald, and Coy; four aunts, eight uncles, three sisters-in-law, one niece and one nephew.
