Jacqueline Ann Prescott "Jackie"

July 5, 1954 — February 14, 2023

Mrs. Jacqueline Ann Prescott “Jackie” passed away February 14, 2023. She was born July 5, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan, to William E. and Essie Mae Swilley. Jackie’s foundation in faith began at Spiritual Israel Church where she sang in the choir and was a longtime church secretary. Jackie continued in service to the Lord at Mount Nebo Baptist Church where she served as an usher. She loved her Pastor and church family.

Jackie attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a proud cheerleader and honors graduate of Saginaw High School C/O 1972. After high school, Jackie continued her education at Delta College (Accounting/Bookkeeping) and Ross Medical School (Medical Assistant). Jackie was a long-standing office manager, receptionist, transcriptionist and medical assistant for Dr. Elvira Dawis and Dr. Malcolm B. Pike. Jackie showed genuine love, compassion and guidance to several families and children as if they were her own. Whether they were patients, family members, her sons' friends, children in the neighborhood or even a stranger, Jackie provided every child with nurturing dedication and support. Jackie was mother to so many and she always seemed to have the remedy, the advice, and the anecdote.

Jackie was an excellent listener with a gentle encouraging spirit. She had a smile that would light up a room and the perfect laugh to match it. Jackie enjoyed coffee, music, bingo, reading her Bible, dancing, having a good laugh with family and shopping. She was classy, sharp and put together from head to toe. She took pride in adorning herself with fashionable nails, stylish handbags, elegant clothes with jewelry and shoes to match. Jackie loved listening to Le’Andria Johnson sing “Deliver Me.” She used this song to lift her spirits as she shared her wide-open heart and spirit with the world. She leaves to continue her legacy her husband, David Prescott; three sons, Dimetri Wells, Jermaine Swilley, Corey (Britney) Prescott; stepson, David Monroe “DJ;” grandchildren, Demesha Swilley, Jarquez Swilley, Demetri Wells Jr., Destiny Wells, Jermaine Swilley Jr., Javonte Buckley, Jeffry Sheffield, Courtney Prescott, Cory Prescott, Corey’On Prescott, Chance Miller, Caidyn Prescott; five great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Mattie) Swilley, Yvonne Hubbard, Steffond (Dianne) Swilley, Tyrone Swilley; mother-in-law, Blondell Prescott; in-laws, Steve Prescott, Venissa (Dennis) Perry, Michael Prescott, and Randell Prescott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who all held a special place in her heart, including: Elmer (Monk) Swilley, Isaac (Maine) Swilley, Doris Abernathy, Tosha Sykes, Felicia Tinner, Trisha Fields, Kareem Swilley, La’Keisha Purifoy, Kuhani Anjiku, Jermar Swilley, Ciara Swilley, Traveil Swilley, and Tameka Prescott.
