Jacqueline Benson (Lansing)

Ms. Jacqueline “Jackie” Benson passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 63 years. She was born December 16, 1954 to her parents, Deborah Usher (Welch) and Eddie B. Wilson in Detroit, Michigan.

Jackie attended school in Lansing, Michigan where she was a member of Harry Hill High School’s first graduating Class, the Class of 1973. She had one of the biggest hearts anyone could have! Jackie was giving, loving and a very generous woman who had no problem volunteering. She was a faithful member of Galilee Baptist Church where she was active in several ministries. Jackie diligently worked for the Michigan League for Public Policy for over 20 years. She loved to travel and spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, 2 sons, JaRod Benson and Dominick Brown; 3 grandchildren, Mari Benson, Raevynn Brown and Golden Brown; 6 sisters, Carole Lee, Pat Brown, Stephanie Walker, Jeanette McCatty, Annette Usher and Deb Collins; mother-in-law, Avery Smith; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Linda Hester, Angela Williams, Desiree and Derrick Quinney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Deborah Usher and Eddie B. Wilson; husband, Rodney Benson; brother, Lamont Usher, and several step-brothers and step-sisters.
