Jahmal Dorsett

Our beloved son, brother, uncle, father and friend, Jahmal Dorsett passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 41 years. He was born March 26, 1973 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leonard and Minnie Dorsett.
Jahmal was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Bridgeport High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport under the leadership of Pastor Dr. R.B. Ouellette. Jahmal loved customized cars. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He owned several custom-made aquariums. Jahmal was a warm and compassionate person who had a great sense of humor. He was a generous soul who loved his friends and family. His wonderful presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy two daughters, Jamaica and Jaquisha Dorsett both of Nashville, Tennessee; one son, Jahmal Dorsett Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan; one grandson, Jayceon Dorsett of Saginaw, Michigan; his mother, Minnie Lee Dorsett; three sisters, Cynthia Abernathy, Antoinette Moore and Natalie Dorsett-Jackson; four brothers, Ronald Williams, Walter, Warren and Clarence Abernathy; eleven nieces and eleven nephews; one aunt, Barbara Dorsett; one uncle, Billy Joe Dorsett; his special companion, Candis Caffey who there at his side at the time of his departure; many other relatives and friends including his special friends, Brian Fisher, Tyrone Harris, Chris Diggs, Jawaun Calhoun Sr. and David Smothers.
Jahmal was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Dorsett, grandparents, Marie and Smith McClain, Minnie and Lott Shaw, and George and Rosie Dorsett, two sisters, Deborah and Renee Abernathy, a special nephew, Walter T. Abernathy, a special friend, William Harris Jr.
