Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Jake Junior Youngblood, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the age of 65 years. Jake was born on November 27, 1959, in Union Springs, Alabama, to Willis and Willie Mae Youngblood.
Jake received Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at an early age. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1978. Immediately after graduation, he began his career at Dow Corning where he was a dedicated employee until he retired in 2015.
Jake had a heart as generous as it was strong. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends, cooking, and sports. One of Jake's favorite pastimes was working in his yard. He was very particular about his yard and he put in the work to ensure that it would be beautiful. His yard was more than just land, it was a place of peace and tranquility and a reflection of his dedication and care. Jake's bright smile could light up any room, and to those who knew him, he was a source of strength and encouragement. His children saw him as a superhero; strong-willed and honorable. He carried himself with intelligence and style and had a great sense of humor. Jake was not just loved; he was truly admired and will forever be missed.
Jake leaves to cherish his memory his children, Jemal Youngblood, Jalisa Townsend, Sharda (Bryan) Smotherman; grandchildren, Bryan Jr, Alton, Zachary, Namon, and several bonus grandchildren; bonus daughters, Kentavia and Wycovia; sisters, Agrony Youngblood-Thomas, Lilly Youngblood-Jones; brothers, Willis Jr. and Jermaine Youngblood; his special nieces, Akilah and Ahmarie; long-time friend, Gail; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Awaiting Jake at Heaven’s gates were his parents, Willis and Willie Mae Youngblood; brother, Malcolm Youngblood; sister, Bobbie Payton, and nephew, Omar Jones.
Special thanks to Davita Dialysis and emergency responders.
