Jalen Lorenz Walker

Jalen Lorenz Walker passed away at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor on Friday, August 23, 2024. Age 31 years. Jalen was born July 6, 1993, in Lansing, Michigan to Donell and Donia Clayton.

Jalen was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Beekman Center School in Lansing Michigan for people with disabilities. Jalen received his diploma.

Jalen enjoyed painting, listening to gospel music, watching Animal Planet, and MSU basketball. 

Jalen leaves to cherish his memory his mother Donia Clayton and stepfather, Donell Clayton; his loving and devoted grandmother, Marjorie Walker; a special grandmother, Catherine Clayton; one aunt, Jennifer Glenn, Columbus, Georgia, four great aunts, Jonia Walker, Lansing, Michigan devoted aunt and caregiver, Voncille (Henry) Johnson, Sandra Walker, Linden, Alabama, Rosetta Lanier, Selma, Alabama; and Kimberly (Ronnie) Walker aunt in-law; one uncle Ronnie (Kimberly) Walker, Sicklerville; New Jersey; one great uncle, Leonard Walker Lansing, Michigan; cousins, Lloyd Jr., Kelvin, Yvonne, Antonio, ReShaunda, James, Felice, Shontrese, Austin, and Ja'Nayla, and many other second cousins and friends; two godmothers, Sandra Harris, and Pearlie Rembert; a special friend who is like an aunt Deborah Mitchell; the many caregivers who loved him  dearly Gerry G, Roberta B, Marsha O, Katherine W. and Teresa M.; one special teacher Denise Fitzpatrick, godfather and special friend, Willie Rembert; extended family Jennifer (Larry) Johnson, Cynthia Jackson, both of Lansing, Michigan, Columbus (Marie) Clayton, Saginaw, Michigan, O'Dell, Melvin ,and Michael Clayton, Lansing, Michigan.

The family would like to express special thanks to the nursing staff of Maxim Nursing Agency, Mercy Plus Agency, and the many friends and family that helped take care of Jalen, Comfort Care, and Palliative Care at the University of Michigan.
