James Alexander Jr.

James Alexander Jr., of Vassar, Michigan passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. Age 57 years. James was born November 26, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee to James and Lucy (Hall) Alexander. James graduated from Vassar High School in 1974 and eagerly entered the workforce for a few months. In 1975 he joined the military and served his country in the United States Army. Following a three-year term in the Army, James was honorably discharged and began a career in the automotive industry. James enjoyed fishing and intermittently spending time with his family, friends and pets. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Lucy Alexander; two children, Rachel R. Alexander of Baltimore, Maryland and James (Kimdra) Alexander III of Farmington Hills, Michigan, their mother, Ruth Alexander of Saginaw, Michigan; one granddaughter, Kailyn E. Alexander of Farmington Hills, Michigan; two brothers, Jimmie (Annette) Hall of Saginaw, Michigan, Jimmy Ellis of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Ruby White of Saginaw, Michigan and Diaroyce Humphrey of Flint, Michigan; one uncle, Nathaniel Hall of Flint, Michigan; two aunts, Sarah Nix of Saginaw, Michigan, Rubie Moorer of Vassar, Michigan; 14 nieces and nephews, Mark and Lester White, Kerry (Antwand) Turner, Jimmie, Terrell and Hezekiah Hall, Daniel, Marcus, Corey and Terrence Humphrey, Clayton and Camille Ellis, Pia Richard and Gabriel Gladney; special friends, Sylvester Swinton of Vassar, Michigan, Artis Bothuel of Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Clara Hall, Jerry and Lizzie Alexander; father, James Alexander Sr.; one uncle, Willie Hall; four aunts, Neze Davis, Lena Bearden, Savannah Sims, and Frankie Barksdale; and one brother-in-law Solomon White.
