Mr. James Barnett Jr. passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his residence. Age 84 years. He was born January 22, 1928 in Rison, Arkansas to James Sr. and Hattie Barnett.
James was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry in 1993 after 46 years of loyal service. James was a faithful member of St. Lukes CME Church where he was a church steward and member of the choir. He was a talented man who wore many hats. He was an expert in carpentry, painting, home improvements and auto mechanics. James loved spending time with his grandchildren, reading and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Elizabeth Barnett; two sons, Eddie Barnett, Killeen, Texas, Harold Barnett, Saginaw, Michigan; two grandchildren, Eddie Barnett II and James P. Barnett, both of Erving, Texas; one sister-in-law, Georgia Miller; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents James Sr. and Hattie Barnett; one brother, Reverend Leodis Miller.
