James E. Chapman passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age, 61 years. He was born January 7, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to Essie Mae and Henry Chapman, Jr.
He retired from the Saginaw Malleable Iron after 25 years of service. He served as a private in the United States Army. He was a member of UAW Local 455. James loved playing dominoes and spending time with his grandchildren; they will greatly miss him. James leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Constance Chapman. He was a faith member of St. Paul Episcopal Church under the leadership of Rev. Judy Boli.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Constance Chapman of Saginaw, Michigan; three daughters, Cheri (Neil )Hayes, Jamie (Jason) Chapman and Ashley Keaton; special goddaughter, Patrice Henderson; 4 grandchildren, Neil and Chievell Hayes and Jordan Chapman all of Saginaw, Michigan; Trenton Keaton of Flint, Michigan, and expected to arrive soon, granddaughter, Kenadi Jones; a sister, Lela Mae Patman of Saginaw, Michigan; three brothers, John Chapman of Saginaw, Michigan; Earl (Mary Chapman) of Lansing, Michigan; Robert (Candice) Chapman of Midland, Texas. He also leaves several nieces, including special nieces, Elizabeth Watley, DeShawnda Turner, Margaret Patman, Stella Patman and Stephanie Williams; several nephews including special nephews, Derrick Williams, Eric Williams, Daymon Williams, Des William, Alfred Patman, Alphonzo Patman, Albert Patman, Jr., and Andrew Williams; mother and father-in-law, Sam and Elizabeth Williams, six sisters-in-law, Martha (L.C.) Turner, Greta (Ricky) Riley, Leatrice Wicker, Sherry Braxton, Doretta and Sonya Williams; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special lifelong friends.
Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Chapman, Jr., Essie Mae Chapman; mother and father-in-law, Sam and Elizabeth Williams; brothers-in-law, Andrew and Al Williams.
