James Fleming

November 16, 1942 — April 25, 2021

Mr. James Fleming went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 25, 2021 after a lengthy illness. James was born November 16, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama to Alfred Fleming and Annie Pearl Robinson.

James graduated from Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama in 1960, coming to Saginaw, Michigan in 1962. He retired from Keller Williams Realty but he also worked for several other realtors. He was a faithful member of Candlelight Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jimmie L. Simington and currently under Pastor Willie J. Mills, where he served as a Deacon, Usher and Trustee board member. He previously served as a board member of Saginaw Rescue Mission. James loved golfing, fishing and most sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he could also be found daily at McDonald’s Restaurant having coffee with his buddies.

James leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 25 years, Barbara Fleming; daughters, Helen (Riley) Lutz, Ladena (Darren) Longuemire; grandchildren, James Doss, Clifford Donald, Erica Donald, Natasha (Aaron) Tucker, Johnnie Frazier, Jr., Matthew Frazier, Aleah Frazier; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Sabrina Satchell; brother, Alfred Fleming; six sisters-in-law; many other relatives and friends including special friends John (Ruby) Jackson, Udell (Alma) Holmes, Mother Classie Roland and all of his buddies from McDonald’s Restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Fleming, John and Annie Kelly; brothers, John, Larry, Robert Kelly; and stepdaughter, Natasha Frazier.

The family would like to express special thank you to the staff of Brittany Manor of Midland, Michigan, Karen Murphy, Candlelight Baptist Church Family, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
